Drag Champions Banquet
 The
Drag Strip's Champions Award Banquet for the 2008 season was held
on Saturday December 6th in the Convention Center at Rocky
Mountain Raceways. With 145 in attendance and just about as many
awards handed out, the night was a success.
All the class champions and their guests were treated to a
delicious dinner and dessert, drinks, music, a season highlight
video and a wonderful awards presentation. The night went off
without a hitch, except for the occasional outburst from the
microphone every time the Junior Dragsters were mentioned, but we
will blame that on the Safety Director turned Audio Visual Guru.
A couple highlights of the night were Casey Ostler's thank you
speech (very well done for such a young man), the Motorcycle
class' heartfelt acceptations, and Ron Craft and Dave
Turner's constant bickering over stealing scripts.
A big congratulations to all the participants and champions of the
2008 season and we hope to see you all again next year. - DS
