ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACEWAYS

HONORS THE LIFE OF LOGAN EMERSON

Salt Lake City, Utah-July 1, 2009.     The racing community came together tonight at Rocky Mountain Raceways to celebrate the life of Logan Emerson.

“Rocky Mountain Raceways is happy that we could support the Emerson family. We are so grateful to everyone that came here to remember Logan Emerson,” said Curt Stewart Motocross Track Manager for Rocky Mountain Raceways.

More than 600 people came to show support for the family and commemorate Emerson. A candlelight vigil was held at the end of the evening to remember Emerson.

“Logan was very passionate about motocross. He was a very loving and compassionate boy,” said Emerson’s Aunt Jackie Orr.

A memorial BBQ and fundraiser was held in Emerson’s honor. A raffle and silent auction were held with countless prizes being donated from local racers and companies. 100% of all donations and sales will go directly to Logan Emerson’s family through the Utah Motorsports Foundation.

Utah Motorsports Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1999 and organized by Terry Nish and friends. The foundation was created for the purpose of raising funds to offer assistance and financial relief to the motorsports community families in the event of terminal illness, accident or related family tragedies.

“The motocross community is like a big family. It has been great to see the enormous support and response given from the motocross community,” said Elci Chapman of the Utah Motorsports Foundation.

Since its inception the Foundation has raised over $566,000 and has been able to assist over ninety different racers and their families. The recipients have ranged from U.S.A.C, NASCAR, N.H.R.A., I.R.L., karting, motorcycle and Bonneville Salt Flats Racers.

Donations can be made by calling (801) 533-9179 or visiting www.utahmotorsportsfoundation.com.
