Second ASA Weekly Racing event of 2008 started off with competition in the Mini Cups and Legends taking the checkered flag with no problems. Things started to get crazy when the Pro Trucks took the 11 degree banking. You’d think they were running a scheduled demolition derby they way paint and body parts were being exchanged . . . or left on the track altogether. The #22 of Beau Newhouse ran most of the event with his nose sitting in the infield. The loss of aerodynamics didn’t slow him down one bit as he continually challenged eventually winner #38Johnny Pierre for track space. Pierre’s truck was probably the only one that looked the same at the end of the event as it did when it was brought into the facility.

Just when you thought the drivers had settled down and got back to door-to-door racing action, the #99 of Lou Anderson had worked his way up the pack to let #22 Newhouse know he was there. On the final lap for the checkered flag, the #22 literally pushed the #99 across the finish line. The nose of the 22 was all over the driver’s door of the #99. It don’t matter if your rig is pointing north, south, east, or west when you cross the line . . . just take the checkered under power!

EVENT NOTES
Last year’s Pro Truck Champion, #12 Ken Vanderham finished 4^th overall in the Main Event.

Best Speed = 78.915 mph - #12 Ken Vanderham

11 of the 12 trucks completed all 30 laps.

During lap 13 of the Maverik Modified Main Event, there was an extensive power outage at the racetrack and the race was not completed. The Main Event for the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series did not take place at all.
